First time cat owner !

Hello. I just got a kitten about a month ago. I’ve only ever owned dogs before so it’s a little new to me. It’s been going great but one thing i’m struggling with is feeding. I used to feed her half a can in the morning of wet food and kibble at night but then my vet said it’s a bad idea and to feet kibble and wet only for treats. So I changed it to feed her once in the morning once in the evening, but I feel like she’s still hungry, but my vet told me that I need to watch how much I feed her because I don’t wanna overfeed her, but I’m just a little confused because she’s definitely still hungry and I feel terrible because she just gets so excited every time I go to the kitchen because she thinks I’m getting her food, but I don’t wanna overfeed her after this conversation with the Vet. any advice would be very helpful! tyia!!
