How to do Shiny Clothing properly

I'm noticing lately that with a lot of the monochromatic suiting and shirting that is hitting runways a lot of fits have a sheen to them. I get that this is not appropriate all the time but I'd loce to incorporate some of this at times.

The best example off the top of my head is a Andrew Garfield in the all brown suit at last years Oscar's.

Can someone explain to me what fabrics for both shirting and suiting I'd be looking for to attain the same type of effect?
