Advice for a teen wanting to learn to play hockey?

I have been in love with hockey for since I started going to games with my friends last year and I really want to try playing it for fun.

The only issue is I live in a place where not a bunch of people care about hockey and no one wants to teach you unless you want to drive an hour away (Alabama 💔)

I’m a 17 year old girl and the college I want to go to has a hockey club that beginners are allowed to join but I was wondering what’s the best way to start right now.

YouTube? Buying a stick and a puck? Any advice would be helpful 🫶
