To all of you punks in the pit, thank you!

I love going to shows around town and try not to miss anything I’m intrigued by. My dad is 69, and has been going to shows with me for a while now because he’s always down for a good time. He has been with me to see Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphy’s, The Cult, Flogging Molly, FIDLAR, Black Flag (the current lineup at that time lol), etc.

My Dad went with me to all of these shows and for the first few he stood on the wall of the pit pushing people back in. I feel like it quickly escalated to him jumping into the pit. I was worried for his safety, but you all are so kind to him at EVERY FUCKING show! So much so that my Dad asks me if there’ll be a mosh pit when I invite him because he loves them so much now! He always leaves the show talking about how he makes friends in the pit, and that everyone is so nice and just enjoying themselves. Showing me his battle scars the next day so proudly. I love seeing it.

He grew up when bands like Black Flag first started, but didn’t ever get into any of that and is discovering it at his age now and I love that we can enjoy it together. I always told him people in the pit were looking out for one another, but I don’t think he believed me until he experienced it for himself. Thank you for making my Dad feel welcome and find a love for moshing he didn’t know he had!🤗
