Challenges of dealing with entitled chronically jobless
I work in a role where I sometimes deal with individuals who have been unemployed for a long time, and one of the hardest parts is managing people who are extremely entitled, combative, and unwilling to take responsibility for their own situation.
You can be professional, fair, and patient, and it still won’t matter. Some people complain about everything, take responsibility for nothing, and seem completely blind to how their own behaviour affects how others respond to them. Then they complain why life or work never seems to go well.
What makes it especially draining is that you’re expected to remain calm and helpful while being on the receiving end of endless grievance, hostility, and self-righteousness.
Sometimes I feel like that the taxes I pay shouldn’t benefit such leeches 🤣
Do you come across such people in your life? How do you handle them?
