Flagpoling led to a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) for "Admissibility" – stressed and need advice!
Hi everyone,
I’m in a very stressful situation and could really use some insight or similar experiences.
I recently applied for an International Experience Canada (IEC) permit (processing time is usually 2 weeks). However, instead of an approval, I received a Procedural Fairness Letter (PFL) regarding a previous "Inadmissibility" issue that I wasn't even aware of.
The Context:
• A while back, I did a "flagpole" (went to the US border and back) to change my status.
• At the time, I had a valid ESTA, but it seems something happened at the border that was flagged as an admissibility issue/entry refusal, which I didn't realize at the time.
• I honestly had no idea I had a "record" or a previous refusal until I got this letter.
What I’ve done:
I have already replied to the PFL and sent all my supporting documents explaining the situation and my good faith.
My Questions:
-
Processing Times: Does anyone know how long IRCC typically takes to process a response to a PFL? My current Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is expiring very soon, and I’m worried about my status.
-
Flagpoling Issues: Has anyone else triggered a PFL because of a misunderstanding during a flagpole?
-
IEC specific: Since IEC is usually fast, does the PFL move it to a completely different (slower) processing queue?
I’m feeling pretty lost because I never intended to hide anything; I just didn't know the flagpole resulted in that specific administrative mark.
Thanks in advance for any help!
