Cat meows nonstop and I am losing it

Hi all.

I adopted a 2 year old tortie about 2 months ago and this has been an ongoing, worsening issue. She meows all day nonstop even if I am trying to give her attention. She will just sit in the kitchen and scream or follow me around and scream even if I have just played with her or fed her or petted her.

I am starting to lose my mind because I have a high stress job and now I can't relax at home because she is just full on screaming at me. I play with her everyday, she has two cat trees, a window seat, a bunch of scratchers, lots of toys that she plays with.

I use an auto feeder so she doesn't associate me with food but she still wakes me up in the morning and middle of the night screaming.

I know people say to get a second cat but I don't want to add another unknown to an already tenuous situation.

Vet checked her out and she is healthy, just a little underweight. I have been feeding her more per their recommendation.

Please does anyone have any ideas? I love her but I fully broke down in my kitchen today because I can't get more than 2 minutes of silence.
