Admitted to UCSB (PhD) on Feb 23 but still no funding info? Should I wait to submit my SIR?
Hi everyone,
I was lucky enough to get a PhD admission from UCSB back on February 23rd. I’m super excited about the program, but I’m getting a bit anxious because I still haven’t received any details regarding the funding package or stipend.
It’s been a few weeks now, and my portal hasn't updated with a formal financial offer. I have two main concerns:
Do I need to submit my SIR (Statement of Intent to Register) to see the funding details? I really don’t want to commit without knowing the financial specifics (stipend amount, TA/RA requirements, health insurance, etc.).
Is it normal for the funding letter to lag this far behind the admission offer at UCSB? I’m worried about missing some sort of deadline, though I'm aware of the April 15th resolution.
Has anyone else in this cycle (or previous ones) experienced this delay with UCSB?
Thanks in advance for the help!
