Is ATC worth it compared to my current job?
I currently work in the microchip industry making 100k a year when I do 5 days a week. I work 12 hour shifts with with a 3 day and 4 day work week alternating every week. But it means whenever I need time off I just don't sign up for overtime. I am also one of the lowest paid employees there so there is room for growth. I also get in total (vacation, holiday, and sick time) about 5 weeks off. But, microchips can be a volatile industry with people getting laid off. I am in tier 2 of hiring for ATC at the moment. What would you do in my situation? Is ATC worth the stress and the salary increase I might get? Are there any factors I am not seeing?
