Medical Symptom Summary

2020 – Motor Vehicle Accident

	•	Involved in a motor vehicle accident (no serious injuries identified at the time).

	•	Soon after the accident, I began experiencing leg pain.

Following Months

	•	A few months later I noticed I could not flex my foot up or down.

	•	Medical testing at the time came back normal.

	•	I was prescribed Gabapentin and Amitriptyline.

	•	After approximately 6 months of intensive physiotherapy, I regained the ability to move my foot.

	•	However, I continued to experience:

	•	Residual nerve pain

	•	Weakness in my legs

	•	Limited ability to walk long distances

These symptoms have continued to some degree up to the present.

⸻

January (Recent Year)

Because I was still experiencing nerve pain in my shoulder at c5, my doctor prescribed Cymbalta.

At this time I was taking:

	•	Wellbutrin

	•	Cymbalta

I still had baseline leg weakness, but no major new symptoms at that time.

⸻

February – New Symptoms Begin

I began experiencing sudden electrical shock sensations throughout my entire body.

Description of these episodes

	•	Feels like a full-body electric shock or “zap”

	•	Lasts about 1 second

	•	I feel slightly disoriented afterward

At first these seemed to happen during activity, but they started occurring more frequently, even while resting.

⸻

Additional Symptoms That Started Around This Time

	•	Difficulty reaching orgasm or inability to orgasm

	•	Dizziness

	•	Disorientation

	•	Out-of-body feeling

	•	Sudden intense heat sensations

These symptoms were occurring multiple times per day (about 2–3 times daily).

⸻

March 7 – Major Episode

While walking around a store, I suddenly developed:

	•	Dizziness

	•	Disorientation

	•	Feeling extremely hot

I went home and slept for about two hours, but the symptoms did not improve.

While getting ready for work, I felt mentally “blacked out” or disconnected from myself.

My boyfriend told me to sit down, and I ended up lying on the floor.

While he briefly left the room, I noticed I could not move my legs.

	•	They did not feel numb or paralyzed

	•	They felt extremely heavy, like they weighed 1000 pounds

We called 911.

⸻

During the 911 Call

While speaking with the operator, my muscles began tightening:

	1.	My buttocks suddenly tightened

	2.	The tightening spread down my legs

	3.	My legs became increasingly rigid

	4.	My feet tightened and twisted inward

	5.	My toes curled toward my heels

	6.	My feet turned inward toward each other

The contraction was so severe I felt like my joints might dislocate.

After trying several positions, I was rolled onto my stomach, and then:

	•	My legs began tightening upward toward my head

The episode was extremely painful.

The only thing that stopped the episode was muscle relaxer medication given by paramedics.

⸻

Since That Event

I have experienced additional similar episodes, with the same pattern:

	•	Severe tightening and contraction of the legs and feet

	•	Occurs primarily in my lower body

Current ongoing symptoms include:

	•	Severe leg fatigue

	•	Weakness in both legs

	•	Difficulty walking

	•	I currently require a walker to walk safely

⸻

Other Ongoing Symptoms

	•	Persistent leg weakness

	•	Extreme fatigue when using my legs

	•	Muted sensation in my feet

	•	Episodes of:

	•	dizziness

	•	disorientation

	•	out-of-body feeling

	•	heat sensations

	•	electrical shock sensations
