First time renter (MN) and feel a bit nervous going about it

I just recently got a full time job making 15an hour and my cc is 650 and im just worried about applying to apartments bc me and my bf wanna move in together but he doesn’t have a credit card yet and I’m wondering if i could just be only one on the lease and have him as a authorized occupant? Idk I’m thinking of renting a room with him since im a bit nervous and maybe give myself some more time to save up but maybe him getting a credit card to build his credit as well. Ahh im just not sure.
