is it weird?

TL;DR context: i been seeing this guy for about 3 months. i’m female in our young 20’s so we’re both still living at home.

Anyway, his dad happened to be walking back home. I was parked in front of his home, chatting with the guy i’m dating inside my car.

his dad walks up to my car, and compliments me on my car. Found it normal, continuing to have small talk,(i never met him before, nor did he introduced himself)

he then finished the conversation like “well you really do have a nice car, now i know i can not to hit on you” is that fucking weird?? or am i over reacting??
