Best for handlers with Disability/Fixed Income (SSDI) 2026

Hi all,

I recently took out a small loan to assure that my service dog (8 year old Belgian Shepherd/Groenendael) is in perfect health. After extensive testing, the vets confirmed that he is!

But he is getting older, and I am looking into a successor. I want to honor my boy by keeping him happy and healthy for as long as possible. He has saved my life in more than one emergency situation; getting pet insurance is the least I could do for my hero.

I don't much of a monthly income, but I want to put what I can toward him. We used to have Trupanion, but couldn't afford it.
Where can I get the most bang for my buck? Are there any programs to help me?
