Is steamOS the best for steam gaming on desktop?

Hello all! What’s the best OS for gaming? I’ve got a dedicated travel pc that needs support for 4+ controllers of Xbox or dualsense. It has a ryzen 7700x and arc b570, 1tb ssd and is gonna be for mostly steam for now, I can’t think of any other launchers I would want. It may be used for either vr or broadcasting vr headsets pov.
