Help me!

I already have a story posted, but recently I came up with another story that I think is really good, at least in my opinion. I want to continue the old one, but I also want to start this new one. So I made a deal with myself. I recently sent a contract request. If I get approved, I will continue the old story. If I get rejected, I will move on to this new one. Do you think my reasoning makes sense?
