Unable to close experimental window on steamdeck

When loading up experimental I now can't choose 'agree and proceed' instead my controller interacts with the menu. It wouldn't be a problem but I am seemingly unable to do anything as no additional overlay windows appear (because they can't override experimental info I assume). It also prevents me from changing to keyboard and mouse in options as that also invokes an overlay window before allowing to change the controls. I attempted:

1. Different controller layouts
2. Disabling steam input
3. Verifing installed files
4. Aforementioned 'keyboard and mouse'
5. Steam button + right pad (in an attempt to bring out the mouse, no luck)

Is there anything else I could try before full reinstallation?
