Formula O Update - March 14th 2025

Hey everyone, you may have seen our post the other day asking if people would watch a premium iRacing league. The response was great so we've been heads down sorting the details. Here's where we are:

• Start date: July 2026 Moved it forward. We have enough in place to make this happen sooner and we'd rather get racing than keep planning.
• Season 0 grid: 5 teams confirmed, up to 11 We already have 5 teams locked in. Season 0 has a maximum of 11 teams so there are still spots available if you want in.
• Points system updated: Fastest lap bonus point now goes to top 10 finishers, matching how it works in real F1. We removed the most laps led bonus.
• Team structure simplified: Minimum 3 people per team — 2 race drivers and 1 team spokesperson. No maximum. You can build your team as big as you want beyond that.
• No mid-race substitutions: Once the race starts, your registered drivers are in the car until the end. No swaps.
• Constructors Championship is the main title: The team championship is what Formula O Season 0 is ultimately decided by. The Drivers Championship still runs alongside it but the Constructors is the one that matters most. Gives teams flexibility with their driver lineup without it destroying their season.
• Official document is live: We've put together a full public document covering everything. Rules, team structure, calendar, broadcast format, points, governance, all of it. Drop into the Discord and you'll find it there.

Formula O is a premium iRacing open-wheel league built to be watched. W12, real F1 circuits, 5 to 11 teams, racing every 3 weeks from July 2026. Streamed live on Twitch and YouTube with proper commentary, pre and post race coverage, and teams with real identities. Think less private lobby, more entertainment product.

Season 0 is the pilot. We're keeping it tight, getting it right, and growing from there.
