Best skill I learnt
Earlier I had the mentality that I will become the ideal student from tomorrow. I will study continuously for x hours.
I failed every single day. I have been trying to do this for the past 4 years. I have been trying to "improve" my study techniques and routine but nothing worked.
Recently I started practicing the skill of returning back to studies and it has been working great for me.
For example when I start a study session and I get distracted by reddit or youtube, I have started to return back to studies as soon as I become aware that I was distracted.
So instead of wasting hours on some distraction and feeling guilty later, now I return back to studies after a few minutes and this distraction time is reducing with practice.
I hope it doesn't come across like the obnoxious advice given to homeless people to "just buy a house". But try to return to studies as soon as you become aware that you got side tracked from your studies.
P.S. I am making this post when I am supposed to study but now that I got aware, i will go back to studying. Cheers.
