C++ doesn't run or debug in vscode

Hi, i'm a newbie trying to use c++ on vscode but whenever i try to run or debug the code this message appears:

launch: program 'enter program name, for example /home/julia/Documents/CPP/a.out' does not exist

I tried following a bunch of tutorials but nothing seems to help.

I know c++ on vscode is not really the best for beginners but i need to use it for uni and stuff.

The OS i'm using is cachyos, and i already installed gcc and g++, any help is appreciated :)
