Cuz of my autism people clearly see me as disabled and seeing me hanging out with people is reason for concern
Last summer one of my sisters in laws friends who ig knew me since I was young, thought she saw me getting into a car with a bunch of dudes in a car in the carpark, and immediately got concerned and sent a voice note to my SIL, I actually heard the voice note and she literally said "at first I thought oh he has friends" then she went on to explain how it concerned her because the guys looked "dodgy", the fact that she was surprised that i have friends is omg I just fucking can't...
This is one of the worst fucking things about being moderately autistic, if i was NT and normal she wouldn't have batted an eye but because I am the way I am she took immediate concern and told my SIL who then told my mum instead of messaging me personally who I then had to convince it really wasn't me (because it fucking wasn't)
Not to disrespect people with down syndrome but this just gives me down syndrome vibes, like this is exactly the kind of shit that you would expect to happen to a down syndrome person and one of my absolute top 3 personal fears is that people actually perceive me as similar to someone with downs, incapable of their own agency, it just absolutely fucking annihilates my sense of self and identity, it also really pisses me off how people just immediately go to my mum instead of telling me personally, what the fuck is that about?
