Top Tips For DIY Car Maintenance
Mornin’ all.
I do as much servicing and maintenance at home as I can and, over the years, have developed my own little ways of doing stuff that either make it easier or cleaner.
One thing I always do is have a large sheet of cardboard under the car. One reason is to catch drips of oil and avoid it going on the drive, and the other is that all my tools get laid on the cardboard. After I’ve finished, I slide the cardboard out from under the car and all the tools are in one place. No more lost 10mm bits.
The other is that I bought a thick, cheap yoga mat for about £8 10 years ago. I cut off enough of it to lay on, or kneel on. I use it until it’s completely fucked or oily, and then throw it, and cut off a new section. The number of times I’ve knelt on a stone or something makes me glad I do this one.
What about you?
