GSW vs stab wound

I’m currently watching the YouTuber Amber Vance and I’m on part 4 (Crime Scene Evidence) and she mentioned someone saying that all the victims were “double tapped” which apparently means shot and stabbed. And she asked her husband if it was possible for someone to be shot and than inflicted other injuries in that gunshot wound would it be a gunshot wound anymore? And her husband said in his opinion it is possible that it could no longer be considered a GSW. So what are y’all’s thoughts ??
