Anyone like me want to use MCP in Openclaw without sky-high bill?
Anyone like me want to use MCP in Openclaw without sky-high bill
I was quite frustrated about Openclaw's non-MCP strategy, but not that I didn't understand where it came from, a high interactive bot like this absolutely can't bear MCP's token usage at all. I just felt there is a way to manage this so we can still utilize tons of existing MCP servers.
So I developed this myaider mcp hub plugin for Openclaw, it basically connects to myaider mcp hub which allow you to connect to different MCPs using your API key or OAUTH, then create skills to call MCP tools. And it can automatically or on your demand to sync the skills in to your openclaw. Then only the tools required by your skills will be exposed but also dehydrated (no tool description and schema), therefore there is almost no token concern from MCP tools.
It combined the progressive loading merit of skill and the definiteness and security merits of MCP. I found it quite helpful and has submitted the PR to openclaw repo for including it in the community plugins.
I would like to hear some feedback from you guys.
Installation is simple:
openclaw plugins install myaider
Search "myaider" in npmjs for detail intro and instruction
