WHV/Australia - lost soul in need of guidance
Hi everyone,
First of all, please be kind, I’ve just arrived in Australia and finding it hard to find my feet. I have a WHV-417 but been job hunting for a month and not been very successful.
I’d love to be doing some Workaway type experiences but I do need to get some income. I know you can get some paid oops through there but it’s rare.
I really want the experience of working in a Workaway type situ where you stay with other backpackers and meet people but unsure how to go about finding this that isn’t the usual farm work ppl say to avoid (especially as I don’t need to do it for the 88 days).
I could rent and find a job in Melbourne or have the opp to stay in Adelaide for low rent and could find work but torn between money and experience. I would love to find a way to do both but I just don’t know what I’m doing.
Initially was thinking working/renting in Melbourne for 6 months then do Workaway/travel in Aus but I like the idea of moving around but idk what options there are where it s not also a nightmare to find accommodation. Is there a way to make this work or am I dreaming too much? I read about people working and living in places for a month or two then moving on but not sure how they do this ?? I also don’t have a car so finding remote places to then move on easily is also hard. Any advice is welcome as I really don’t know what I’m doing and feeling a bit homesick/stupid for coming with a plan that I now don’t want to do.
Thank you!!! <3
