Toronto US visa appointment wait was 14 months. My friend got one in about 4 weeks. Here is the short version of what happened.
Not going to make this long because I know people just want the useful part.
Friend lives in Toronto. Needed a US visa for his college best friends wedding in the US this past fall. Checked the appointment portal in January and the next available date was somewhere in early 2026. Not a typo. Over a year away.
He tried the usual stuff. Different consulate cities, checking early mornings, paid an agent who turned out to be useless. Nothing worked for months.
Someone on Reddit, I think it was one of the Canada immigration subs, mentioned in a comment that cancellation slots open up constantly on the US visa portal but they are gone within seconds so you need an automated system watching 24/7 to actually catch one. They mentioned a website called easyvisabooking.com that does exactly that.
He signed up, paid a small fee, and about four weeks later got a notification that a slot had been booked for him in Toronto. Appointment confirmed. Visa approved. Made it to the wedding.
The thing that surprised him most was how quick it happened once the system was actually running. Apparently a cancellation slot opened at around 2am and was gone in under a minute. No human checking manually at 2am is catching that.
Anyway. If you are in that brutal Toronto or Vancouver wait right now and you have a real deadline, cancellation monitoring is apparently a thing and it actually works. Just thought I would share since I had never heard of it before this whole situation.
