Is this worth the effort or am I getting played?
This is a burner for obvious reasons.
So the situation is I (30M)met a girl online (25F) and it was magical for the first 3 months. We started dating in July 2025 We did everything together. We moved in together . She ended up pregnant after 4 months and our reactions were a bit different, she was super excited and I was just kinda shocked. I stayed shocked for about a week before I came around and got excited too.
This is when trouble began. Suddenly our communication began to break down, and it's not like we were fighting per se, but we could never come to an agreement anymore and it lead to exhaustion and feelings of being unheard on both sides. One thing lead to another and she ended up crying a lot, but since I was in pain too it was hard for me to take care of her feelings in all of it. I ended up stopping talking about things and not really wanting to spend time with her. And even though I still loved her deeply I was very feeling unheard. Eventually we had a discussion that went no where, and I left the room. She ended up leaving the house with one of her male friends, and she still hasn't come home fully. She drops in every couple days and we talk while she does her makeup and some times have a really good time together. But she always is picked up and dropped off by this guy as soon as he's available. She initially said she was staying at her mom's house and I believed it for a month. But I went over there a week ago to ask her to baby sit our dog, but her mom told me she hasn't seen her since she was with me last over a month ago. I confronted her on this and she panicked a bit, and said okay, I'm staying at my friends (female) house and this guy we just hang out and he drops me off and picks me up at her place . After the confrontation she says she wanted to be separated and that maybe we could get back together in time.
I realized how dire the situation was, and I asked her that we start attending relationship therapy. So far, it's been working amazingly, and our communication has improved significantly. Even over 2 sessions. But still after a month (biweekly) of therapy, she still won't come home, and we do talk over text every day, but some days she's really happy and talking to me a lot and some days she seems distant. We talk about fun stuff and sometimes the deeper problems. I've taken this to heart what she needs from me and I'm working so hard every day to do better for her and myself , and she told me she sees it feels it and appreciates it. And that she hasn't given up hope that we will be together and that I'll be the man she needs to raise our kid. But still. I feel unsure and I can't tell whether I'm being impatient, wether she's moved on with this guy and she's stringing me along ( I can't think of why she would keep going to relationship therapy and talk in depth about our problems in that case and still maintain constant communication with me) or what the deal is. Or if she really is putting in effort to comev home. I need advice, and idk how much more effort or time I should put in before I realize she gone and not coming back. Her major gripes are communication, which is improving. And how she felt I didn't help her when she was sad, which I said was wrong and that we would address it with the counselor. Am I wasting my time? Is this even fixable or should I move on with my life and deal with the baby when it's here.
Tldr my gf and I got pregnant very early, communication broke down shortly after. After a heated exchange she left the house and went to her mom's. Found out she wasn't staying at her mom's after I went there myself. Only see her every couple days where she sits on the couch does her makeup talks to me and gets picked up and dropped off by a male friend. We entered relationship therapy and communication improved but after a month of therapy won't come home or even spend a single hour of her time outside of the couch visits. Says she is happy with progress but scared our communication will break down again and scared to get hurt. Still talks to me everyday on text about fun things and about serious matters too.
