Our relationship was tough at the beginning, a little antagonistic, even. I hated the fact that my parents were no longer going to be together, hated the sight of my father moving out of the house, and missed him more than I’ll ever miss anyone.

With the pass of time, though, we started to see eye to eye a lot more, even enjoying each other’s company from time to time, nothing close to what it was like with my father, but I started to like having you in the house. Still, I’d never call you my dad, or even step dad, often going for the much simpler option, your name.

Even with our relationship getting slowly better, I never could have pictured myself in this situation. On my knees, getting passed around by you and your buddies in your so called “Man Cave”.
