Essendon fc it's not me, it's you

I've been an essendon fan my entire life, I was at the g when we won our last flag more than a quarter of a century ago and probably too young to really appreciate it at the time.

In the quarter century since that great day I've watched the club boomerang between mediocre and comically poor and uncompetitive and I've had enough. I don't see anything changing any time soon. It's a big Victorian club and the fans keep turning up and buying the merch so they make money regardless of how things go on the field. There doesn't seem a huge incentive to change while the fans accept mediocrity.

I'm ready for change and I want to follow a team that's at least afl standard and worth my time. I'll be getting a Tassie membership because I truly believe a team that doesn't have a list or a stadium yet is more likely to be a premiership contender than efc is in the next decade or two.

I don't blame our good players wanting to get out either, imagine being a professional athlete and having to deal with rubbish like we saw last night week in week out.
