🚨 SOP advice for 🇮🇳 CAAPID applicants

Saying this as an Indian CAAPID applicant too.

This was my first CAAPID cycle, and I received:

•	multiple interview/bench invites

•	multiple acceptances

One very real thing I noticed:

A lot of Indian applicants do not have a weak profile.

They have an SOP that feels:

•	too safe

•	too polished

•	too generic

•	too similar to everyone else’s

You know the type:

•	“Since childhood, I was passionate about dentistry”

•	“I am hardworking, sincere, and dedicated”

•	“I want to serve the community”

None of these are wrong.

But when every SOP says the same thing, strong applicants still become forgettable.

And I think a lot of us can relate to this because as Indian applicants, many of us actually have strong academics, solid clinical exposure, and real effort behind our journey — but the SOP does not reflect that well enough.

So yes, sometimes the problem is not your profile.

It is how your story is being told.

Also, just being transparent:

•	I can’t help with generic personalized SOP feedback in DMs

•	I don’t have bandwidth for free back-and-forth review over chat

•	if you want a thorough review and are serious about improving your application, then feel free to reach out directly
