How do police departments deal with the aftermath of an incident
i’ve been watching a lot of body cam footage of high speed chases and quite often the end result is the car gets pit maneuvered and flys off into a bush or on the grass patch in the middle of a highway ripping up dirt and such during these chases the police cars collide with the suspect and get loads of cosmetic damage sometimes even visibly snapped axles. after the dust has settled and they arrest the suspect/suspects what do they do? surely they don’t just all hop back in their cars and drive around the rest of the shift in a smashed up cop cars. do they clean up the ripped up dirt or leave it as is?
and if the police cars do go back to the station due to damage do they just have a fleet of spare cars with no damage waiting to be swapped in for the officers? also do local police departments have special deals with local panel beaters / auto body shops since they have a high number of cars rotating in and out for repair (obviously this only applys in a big city like LA where they seem to have a chase ever two days) some one please answer this it’s really got me thinking :)
