Indian student planning Master’s in Italy (Sept 2027) – questions about scholarships, language barrier, and living experience 🇮🇹

Hi everyone,

I’m a B.Tech student from India currently researching options to pursue a master’s degree in Italy for the September 2027 intake. I’m mainly looking at programs like International Business / Business Administration taught in English at public universities.

I would really appreciate hearing from students who are currently studying in Italy or have already studied there, especially Indian students.

I have a few questions:

  1. DSU / regional scholarships: How difficult is it for international students to receive these scholarships? Do most Indian students get them if their financial documents qualify?
  2. Living expenses: What is the realistic monthly cost for a student (rent, food, transportation, etc.) in cities like Milan, Bologna, Venice, or smaller cities?
  3. Language barrier: If the master’s program is in English, how much Italian is needed for daily life or part-time jobs?
  4. Job opportunities after graduation: How difficult is it for international students to find jobs in Italy after completing a master’s degree?
  5. Overall experience: Would you recommend Italy for someone who wants international exposure and possibly work in Europe after graduation?

Any advice, experiences, or tips would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
