Didn't find endo in tube removal surgery. Confused on if I have it or not.

Diagnostic Journey Questions

I would like to add a trigger warning for mention of SA.

I've had painful cramps since I first started my period at 12. For the longest time, I thought it was normal to be in so much pain to where it affects my day-to-day activities. Tylenol doesn't work, ibuprofen doesn't work, I tried Midol twice (once a long time ago and recently) and it didn't work. Ironically I can take Tylenol for headaches and it helps lol. My periods also are pretty heavy the first few days so wearing the regular size doesn't cut it.

A heat compress would help to an extent so I had a electric heating pad exclusively for my menstrual cramps and maybe over a year ago, a heat compress stopped bringing me any relief and I cried cause I was so tired of not knowing what to do. My cramps last for several hours straight, the pain level doesn't decrease. At the very least it's only the first day I start my period I experience cramps. Some months the pain is tolerable and I'm able to do things and other months I'll lay in bed and not do much until the pain is over. The only thing that helped was cannabis and I can no longer use it, at least to consume it because it now makes me paranoid. To describe the intensity of how bad my cramps are, when I began having severe pain from having kidney stones I thought I started my period and was having cramps. The pain from kidney stones was so bad, I kept crying while I was waiting in the E.R. Which took two hours.

I got both of my tubes removed in December since I no longer want kids and when I woke up, I was told they didn't find any endometriosis. I obviously started crying. The OB/GYN that I spoke to at the POST-OP, the one who performed my surgery was on maternity leave, said we could potentially do a transvaginal ultrasound. I've also experienced a lot of pain while trying to have sexual intercourse in my first relationship (was not able to in the end) and unfortunately was SA'd multiple times from my first partner. That was now 6 years ago. I do think maybe the cause of the pain during sexual intercourse and the period cramps are separate but figured I'd add it.

Pap smears are also hard so I had the pap smear done while I was under. Thankfully that turned out fine. She recommended pelvic floor therapy to make it easier (i had scheduled an appointment then canceled) but because of my sexual trauma, I don't think it would be a good idea since I hadn't even begun to process it (I am in trauma therapy.) I am on birth control to stop my periods so I won't have cramps.

My follow up appointment is on the 24th with the OB/GYN who did my surgery. If she didn't find anything during my surgery, do I just give up? Based off of previous posts that I've seen on here, I'd think the next step would be to see a endo specialist, get a lap done maybe?, but what if I'm wasting my time and the pain was never THAT bad and I end up not having it?
