As a white guy from America, is it appropriate for me to buy a DR hat/jersey?

context: I am a white guy born and raised in South Carolina, but lived in Canada for a bit, which made me a Blue Jays fan. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is my favorite player, and team Dominican Republic has been an absolute blast to watch and is the team I am rooting for in the WBC (don't wanna root for anything with an American flag on it rn). I've been considering getting a DR hat or Vladdy DR jersey, but I'm worried I'd be appropriating yalls culture. Just figured I'd ask here to get opinions directly from the people.
