Cargobob or iron mule for import/export -- usually more trouble than worth

:DIS1::DIS2::DIS3::DIS4::DIS5:

In light of this week's 2x event for vehicle cargo, I got back into topping off sourcing my top-range cars for sale. I actually like import/export for the most part, even though most consider it 'outdated', but thinking I should just hang up my chopper pilot wings for this work, and just shut up and drive. lol...

When I started it in the past I got an iron mule to try avoiding damage on transfers because of the insane damage NPCs can do. Later tried a cargobob when on sale as well because of issues with the iron mule's size/rotor length).

But what I've found is the choppers are more often far more trouble to deal with:

  1. You dont know what mission youre going to have (whether a chopper will even work for you)
  2. They dont spawn anywhere near you usually, so you have to steal another vehicle to pick it up anyway if your personal vehicle despawns
  3. If you screw up the drop off or the chopper gets damaged by NPCs or anything, you can damage the car far worse than if you had just driven it back anyway

Yes, of course some of that is skill issue and practice with hooking and hauling, but overall, just wondering for those of you who still do this, what do you do?
