Fleet managers: Stop wasting money on "Station Detours" and look into Wet Hosing
I manage a fleet of 25 box trucks for regional delivery. For years, I thought fuel cards were the peak of efficiency. I was wrong. Between the driver "breaks" at the gas station and the constant detour miles, we were losing thousands in "soft costs" every month. ๐
We switched to mobile refueling (Wet Hosing). A fuel truck comes to our yard at 2 AM while the fleet is parked and fills every truck directly.
Why this changed the game for us:
- Drivers start their day with a full tank. No excuses for late departures.
- One single invoice. No more chasing 100+ crumpled receipts or auditing fuel card statements for "snacks."
- Reporting is 100% accurate. I get a digital report showing exactly how much fuel went into truck #4 vs truck #12.
If you are struggling with driver retention, removing the "chore" of fueling is a small but high-impact win. Is anyone else using mobile refueling, or are you stuck in the fuel card loop? ๐
