29 [M4F] #Colorado - A Conversation is Nice; a Human Connection is Wonderful. Here is a Glimpse of my Mind

M4F Colorado

Hey there!

As I sit here in the comfort of my own room with soft white lighting and a nostalgic show from my childhood playing on Netflix silently in the background, I have decided to write this post!

Despite being comfortable with my status as a homebody and a quiet introvert, I would like to find someone to get to converse with in the hopes of forming a connection. It is fun to talk with friends, coworkers, and strangers in person, but it can often feel exhausting. Online interactions are a good way to build comfortability with someone, or at least, in my opinion it is. Personally, I believe that choosing to interact with someone online, when there are near endless amounts of people to choose from, is one of the most sincere ways to make someone feel seen. So if you are choosing to read this post, thank you so much! :)

One thing I've noticed about the way people describe themselves online, it often reads like a prepared statement for an interview: "I like to do [insert hobby], I work as a [insert profession], and I am looking for [insert ideal relationship]". And so, I'm trying to avoid presenting myself in that way. So, I'm sorry if this post reads like a random diary entry. But I would like for any potentially interested person to get a glimpse of my mind.

I recently turned 29 and I used the day to reflect on my development as a person. I try to actively view each day as an opportunity to learn something new and to be a little kinder. Coffee shops in the early morning are the perfect spots to plop down with a journal and a pair of headphones to reflect on life and on yourself. However, life shouldn't be that uptight and serious all of the time, it should also be silly and laidback. Whether its playing video games, carrying around a slinky in my pocket so I can randomly say "I also have this slinky in my pocket.", or thinking of obnoxious ways to say "6, 7" in order to elicit annoyed groans from my high school students. tiny and random joys should be found in daily life.

When you think about it, everything that we've ever come to know has occurred on this blue rock that's hurdling through space. I think it's comforting and amazing. It makes me feel as though my problems aren't as bad as they can feel at times and it makes me feel connected to everyone and everything. Despite our differences, we were all born and experienced life on this blue rock. No matter how lonely we may feel at times, I hope it can bring people comfort knowing that we are all an extension of life from this world. You and I are both unique avatars of life from Earth and in that sense, we will never be alone.

I've realized that I am blessed through the amazing people of my life. Each person has a wonderful trait that they uniquely exemplify. When I watch those people in their element or doing what they do best, I feel inspired to achieve the best version of myself. In that sense, I really value kindness, intelligence, emotional resilience, confidence, curiosity, and wittiness. And my personal journey, currently, is to develop my own understanding of all of those wonderful traits so that maybe, someday, I can uplift others, just as I've been uplifted.

This might be a great (and necessary) stopping point for my ramblings. So I guess to summarize all of that, I am someone who appreciates others, personal connections, being able to reflect by myself, thinks about weird things like space, carries a slinky for the sake of a terrible joke, and plays video games. Oh, and I'm also a teacher. If you do decide to message me, please tell me about yourself, I would love to learn something about you :)
