Ive been on birth control since 12 years old and suffering longterm effects, is this a lawsuit?
for context: I am a 21 year old from BC Canada who suffers from Endometriosis. I was “diagnosed” as soon as I started my period at 12 years old only because my mom had recently had a laprascopy that confirmed she had endometriosis (aka they inferred i had it due to similar symptoms). The doctor that diagnosed me immediately started me on alysena (21 day no break) after only having 1-2 periods ever. At the time this doctor was also investigating to see if I had any cardiac problems due to me chronically losing consciousness. After a couple months of the Alysena my body seemed to overcome it and went on a month and a half stint of constantly having my period, so she switched me to marvelon. After the marvelon did the same she switched me to seasonal, then visanne. Visanne was by far the worst pill I’ve been on causing me intense depression and suicidal thought. after being on all of these pills continuously until the age of 17 (never having a break since I started at 12) I had an appointment with a gynaecologist who said If I tried the mirena IUD for a year and if it didn’t work then he would take it out and do my surgery. So I got the IUD which the same as all the pills I had tried before (month long periods and excessive side effects), and once I got it removed I found out he was no longer practicing. After this I went through a period of more disappointing doctor interactions and medication trials.
However I found out recently that the doctor who initially started me on the pill at 12 ended up with a brain tumour and had to quit practicing shortly after I was 17 due to messing up peoples medications, overlapping patient information, incorrect charting and prescribing inappropriately.
I am just wondering, since I have very obvious lingering side affects due to being on hormone therapy since early puberty that have been acknowledged by my current doctor; is this possibly a lawsuit and or has anyone else had a similar journey with their endometriosis and what was the outcome?
