Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding an issue I faced with my crude oil mini futures position on Groww.

I had a crude oil mini futures position that got auto-squared off even though I had added the shortfall amount. Groww sent me a message saying I needed to add ₹6,700 something to avoid auto square off. The margin required was around ₹48,000 and I only had around ₹41,000 so I added ₹10,000 to my wallet around 11:00 AM, right after I received the message from them.

Despite this, my position was squared off at 11:44 AM, citing a margin shortfall of about ₹6,300. After the square-off, my wallet showed ₹51,000 which was more than the required ₹48,000.

Customer support hasn’t been helpful at all. They first kept insisting that the position was closed because the shortfall was around ₹6,300. When I pointed out that I added ₹10,000 after receiving the message, they said the shortfall persisted because I bought new options positions. I explained that the new positions were purchased using premium received from squaring off my previous day’s positions. Now they haven’t responded at all and it’s been over 24 hours.

My concern is,

1) If the shortfall was higher, why did Groww send a message with the wrong amount?

2)If my wallet had ₹51,000 against a required ₹48,000 margin, why was my position squared off?

I’m not sure how to proceed from here and would appreciate any guidance. Should I file a complaint or is there a way to get my losses corrected?

TL;DR: Groww squared off my crude oil mini futures despite adding shortfall amount. Shortfall message said ₹6.7k. Margin required: ₹48k. Amount added after shortfall msg ₹10k. Balance in wallet after position is auto squared of by groww ₹51k. Customer support is unresponsive. Need advice on what to do next.
