I need help adding a printer to a Mac

I'm not a tech nerd but I could possibly get help here. We recently got this Ricoh MP 4054 printer at home and I'm trying to add it to our old Mac running Catalina 10.15. At first I tried adding it via IP with all the protocols, but when printing, it buzzes for a few seconds then goes silent—nothing prints. I uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, now just "Unable to verify the printer on your network." Hii kitu inachosha. Shouldn't be this hard! Anyone?
