vPSG report for RBD does not mention REM with or without atonia or chin EMG data, did it assess for RBD?

Physician Responded

I 33F recently had a vPSG for suspected RBD. My referring PCP’s chart notes are clear this is the reason for vPSG. I do not have access to the actual referral text.

After nearly six weeks I received my results today. The referral reason in the report didn’t list RBD. It listed sleep apnea. Sleep apnea has been ruled out since 2021 both in-lab and at-home. Those tests did not assess for RBD.

The vPSG included chin leads, video monitoring, eeg, chest and leg leads, etc.

The results also state I was awake for 51 minutes throughout the night and encourage clinical correlation for insomnia. The sleep stage graph represents this - except the vast majority of awakenings occur during 12am - 1am. During this period I was woken at least four times by the tech who first replaced a popped off calf lead, later replaced both chest leads, came back and replaced the chest leads again and then came in once more to replace the leads and wires. The rest of the night has microawakenings sporadically but nothing sustained. Sleep onset was 20 minutes and described as “restless”.

Given no mention of REM with or without atonia was mentioned or EMG data beyond general LMs and PLMs, can I assume RBD was not actually assessed?

Should the sleep interruption due to chest lead replacement have been calculated into sleep efficiency?
