Do boys like ugly girls

Heyy so im in college and dont really have friends. Ok so thats not the issue, i have seen a lot of tall and pretty girls, i am pretty short and black in color, and very introverted. So you can say i am mostly neglected and unpopular. Theres a boy in my college whos pretty popular , not exactly popular but i know people who like him and he is also very good looking. I am not sure why he befriended me, we have known each other for 5 months so far and he proposed me. I am so shocked, mainly cus he's way out of my league and everytime i see pretty girls i feel so insecure.
