I created a brain-support drink for my father (a military veteran) because he hated taking pills. AMA

Personal Story

About 15 years ago I started experimenting with something a bit unusual.

My father was a military veteran who had suffered a stroke. After that, he needed support for memory and cognitive recovery. The problem was — he absolutely hated taking pills.

He rejected almost any kind of pills. For him, taking tablets meant admitting he was sick.

So I started thinking about a different approach: what if the ingredients people usually take as capsules could be turned into a drink instead?

I began researching traditional ingredients used in Ayurveda and comparing them with modern nutritional research around cognition. Then I started experimenting with combinations and flavors.

My dad also disliked overly sweet drinks. He preferred stronger flavors. So the drink ended up having a sharper taste — something closer to ginger beer than a typical sweet soda.

My simple goal was to replace pills with a ritual — something enjoyable you do every day, not another set of capsules to fight over.

My father has since passed away, but his memory is very important to me. Continuing this work and turning that original idea into a small startup became a way for me to keep that memory alive.

Curious if anyone else here also hates supplement pills as much as he did.
