Question from a Canadian. Is the average American really aware of the damage your country is doing to our relationship?

America leaves an awful taste in my mouth right now. The “51st state” nonsense, the comments I see online daily, and the disrespect toward our unique culture are disgusting. I used to think Americans were ignorant in a funny way. It’s not funny—it never was, I was just too young to see it. I will never cross that border again until real change and reconciliation happens. As neighbours and longtime allies, it’s especially shameful. I had three grandfathers and a cousin serve in the World Wars and Afghanistan, and a long line of police in my family who risked and lost their lives for this country. To the Americans who still believe in friendship and goodwill—thank you. You’re welcome up here. The rest of you should rethink your morals.
