Weapon

bullets type : 6.5x57mm

The Sator M1798 was a break-action rifle first produced in 1798. It was manufactured in two variants: a single-barrel version and an over/under double-barrel model. Chambered for 6.5×57 mm cartridges, it was introduced to the public in 1800 as a hunting rifle, where it became known for its reliability and solid construction.

The rifle began as the idea of Sergoy Vorontsov’s friend, while Sergoy Vorontsov helped bring the weapon to reality using his knowledge of weapons manufacturing.

Production of the Sator M1798 ended in 1806. The government of Wolfenston had begun demanding access to the weapon’s blueprints, determined to obtain them at any cost. At the same time, Sergoy’s friend strongly opposed the idea of the rifle being used for war and did not want his weapon used for killing. Without the proper machinery and with the designers refusing to cooperate, the government was unable to successfully reproduce the rifle, and production stopped.

In 1808, while Sergoy and his friend were designing and building a prototype for a new weapon in a workshop in the village of Ivanovka, the phone rang. Sergoy answered and heard Dmitri Macaile, an ally and close friend of the two men, urgently warning him to leave immediately and to take every blueprint and prototype they had made and flee to the main road next to the workshop.

At the time, Dmitri was evacuating his allies and supporters, because the Wolfenston government had begun executing people connected to the Macaile family. Sergoy and his friend were among those targeted. Dmitri had received a message from a spy inside the government, informing him that Sergoy was on the list and that armed men were already on their way to Ivanovka.

As Sergoy and his friend began to pack their work, a group of armed men from the government stormed the workshop with orders to kill them both. During the attack, Sergoy’s friend was shot dead. The shock of seeing his friend die was so great that Sergoy forgot his friend’s name, and it was lost to history.

While fleeing the workshop, Sergoy accidentally dropped a copy of the Sator blueprint on the ground. However, he managed to take a blueprint of a new weapon project and the prototype of the Mist, known as Mist PN°1. He then ran to the main road, where a truck with Macaile’s men was waiting to evacuate him.

The Sator blueprint left behind in Ivanovka was later found by the armed men and taken to their superiors. With the original designers gone and the blueprint now in their possession, the government finally began developing the rifle for military use.

Two years later, in 1810, the Lexonian Revolution began. By that time, the Sator M1798 had entered production under government control and quickly became one of the most widely used weapons by both sides during the early stages of the conflict.

Years later, the knowledge Sergoy carried with him, along with the Mist PN°1 prototype, would influence his son Makar Ibragimovich Vorontsov, who would later design the famous Mist Mk-1 rifle, continuing the legacy that had begun in the workshop at Ivanovka.
