My little brother who I introduced the band to when he was much younger just sent me his feelings on The Mountain and I wanted to share it with you all.

SpoilerDiscussion

“Just finished the mountain. I really does feel like they’re in a new place. Not gone, but not able to come back. It felt towards the end like they were starting to realize that. Almost like they were putting flowers on their own grave.

With everything in the world being drug to infinity there’s solace in knowing that what may come next is not the end. Not the beginning either, but something in between and more.

My heart aches after hearing this album, but not because of sadness. More like because death and the concept of death opens the door to the unknown and its unimaginable to imagine what’s past the threshold of that doorway so I’m overcome by the feeling of unknowing

As in life and the gorillaz, I’m not sure what comes next, but I’m here for it and long to behold it.”

To me this album felt like hugging myself the first time I heard plastic beach. I’d love to hear what others felt when they heard it
