Losing the only relationship where I ever truly felt loved

I was in a relationship with a woman for about two years. During that time she made me feel something I had never felt before in my entire life, like I was actually loved. Not just romantic love. I mean the deeper kind where you feel truly seen and accepted for who you are. Like your presence matters. Like someone genuinely cares about your heart and your well-being. Before her, I never really experienced that. Not from friends, not from family, not from other relationships. I had connections with people, sure, but nothing that ever made me feel the way she did. Being with her changed something in me. It showed me what real love might actually look like. For the first time in my life, things felt warm and meaningful in a way I didn’t know was possible. But the relationship ended. And ever since then, everything feels different. It’s like the color drained out of the world. Life feels darker and more empty than it did before, because now I know what it feels like to have that kind of connection and to lose it. In some strange way, I almost feel like knowing what real love felt like made the loss even harder. Before her, I didn’t know what I was missing. Now I do. It’s made me realize how incredibly rare genuine love seems to be. I look around at people, relationships, everyday life, and part of me wonders if what I experienced with her was something that only happens once. I don’t know if anyone else has gone through something like this, but I’d honestly like to hear from people who have. If you’ve lost a relationship that made you feel truly loved in a way nothing else ever did… how did you move forward from that?
