RCBC CC Consolidation Timeline and Experience

Mar 11, 7:00 AM: Called the RCBC hotline to request a card consolidation from Platinum to Flex Visa. I asked to merge the credit limits and cancel the Platinum card.

Mar 13, 10:00 AM: Consolidation was approved. I didn’t receive any SMS or email notification. I just kept checking the app for updates.

Notes:

•Reward points cannot be transferred.

•The card that will be canceled should have no remaining balance or installments. If you have an outstanding balance, pay it first. Once the payment is reflected in the app, you can call the hotline.

•The customer service representative advised that I cannot use the cards while the consolidation is ongoing. Processing takes 3 to 5 banking days and is still subject to approval.

•I’ve read from others that you cannot consolidate from a higher-tier card to a lower-tier card, but the CS representative didn’t mention this to me.

•Just talk to them respectfully.
