What's going on now & what's next

Haven't touched Z-A since I started FRLG on Pokémon Day (after getting the Garchompite Z, of course), so I now have no idea of what's going on in the ranked ladder, besides seeing some comments about the ladder being crowded with Xerneas again. Also haven't seen any updates or information about announcement of further ranked seasons. What's your view on this? Any further seasons to be expected, now that all mega stones are available? Further Mystery Gifts perhaps?
