Laptop Motherboard Failure

Hello everyone, I made another post asking for prebuilt pc website recommendations and I’ve been thinking into my laptop’s failure. I’ve been told that my motherboard failed but I’m not sure how that happened. The night before I clicked on “Update and Shut Down” for a windows update and then I woke up the next morning and it just stopped working. Could the update itself caused something or is there something else at play? Just trying to figure this out so I don’t face this issue again. As the laptop before that also failed the same way.
