Average tax refund for a non-married, no children, non-homeowner restaurant server who made around 35k last year

Discussion

Was wondering what other people are getting back this year for tip based workers. I am getting completely different answers from my coworkers and wondering if I am doing something wrong with mine. I used FreeTaxUSA to do my taxes and my estimated return is around $2,400. Compared to last years $200. Although its much better than last years, my coworkers are getting $5,000-9,000 back this year. Although most of them have either kids or are homeowners, I was wondering if that seems right.

If you are a server who made around 35k and are single, no children and are non homeowners, what was your refund?
